Mr. Gerulskis has been managing client portfolios, conducting economic research and evaluating investment securities for almost three decades. Prior to starting Capital Advisors, Mr. Gerulskis served as the Executive Vice President & Chief Investment Officer for First Financial Trust, a federally chartered trust bank in Newton, Massachusetts. From 1995 to 2003, Gus was instrumental in growing the bank's assets under management from $100 million to $425 million. He also chaired the firm's Investment Committee and created two nationally ranked investment strategies, Large-Cap Growth Equities and Select Bonds.
Prior to First Financial Trust, Mr. Gerulskis was a portfolio manager and analyst with Gannett, Welsh & Kotler, Inc. (GWK), a Boston registered investment advisor. Before GWK, Gus was a portfolio manager and fixed income specialist for Mechanics Bank in Worcester and South Shore Bank in Quincy, both subsidiaries of Multibank Financial Corporation (now Bank of America). Mr. Gerulskis began his career as a Research Analyst for the town of Westwood, Massachusetts. His findings led to the creation of the Dedham-Westwood Water District in 1986.
Mr. Gerulskis has served as a guest market expert for Microsoft’s nationally syndicated show, MoneyCentral, WBIX Business 1060’s Smart Money, WBZ & WBUR. He has served as as a columnist with the Metrowest Daily News. Mr. Gerulskis earned his B.A. in economics from Middlebury College and M.B.A. with a concentration in Finance from the Clark University Graduate School of Management. He is a long standing member of the CFA Institute and the Boston Security Analysts Society (BSAS).
Mrs. Mazzella joined Capital Advisors, LLC in May 2008 where she assumed responsibility for the administration of client services. In addition to serving as the primary liaison with our qualified custodian, Fidelity Institutional Wealth Services, Nicole coordinates trade reconciliation, data backup, quarterly investment composites and account administration. Ms. Steina has also been instrumental in strengthening compliance procedures including expanding the firm’s disaster recovery procedure, updating Form ADV and the preparation of various management reports.
Prior to joining Capital Advisors, LLC, Mrs. Mazzella was a District Assistant with GMAC Mortgage, LLC in Worcester, Massachusetts where she worked directly with clients and loan officers in mortgage underwriting. Prior to GMAC, Nicole served as Legal Assistant with Fusaro, Altomare & Ermilio, a Central Massachusetts law firm with over 90 years of history. Prior to Fusaro, Altomare & Ermilio, Nicole served as a Legal Assistant with Fuller, Rosenberg, Palmer and Beliveau LLP of Worcester.
